Carer Placement
A preliminary assessment by our management staff provides the opportunity to identify the most suitable care worker for the specific patient.The first placement of the care worker is by appointment with the role players at home, as arranged prior to the commencement of services.
During a placement the procedure is as follows:
- Introduction of the care worker to the client
- Orientation of the care worker with regards to the patient’s care
- Implementation of the care plan and job description
- In service training if needed
- Monitoring and follow up visits on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis to ensure quality care.
Screening and experience
Care@Home requires that applicants have completed an accredited training course with sufficient experience before they are considered to be contracted as a service provider.
Our care workers attends an assessment and orientation session before allocating any patient to his or her care. They are informed about Care@Home’s policies, procedures and standards set for service delivery, and will not be placed before attending this course.
Extra responsibilities of the client & carer
Transport
It is the responsibility of the client to provide the additional cost for the transport of the care worker to and from the home. We do have a shuttle that transports our staff. This gives the client peace of mind, knowing that the care worker are on time for all shifts. Management are in in contact with the care worker, shuttle driver at all times.
Refreshments
The carer is responsible for their own refreshments.
The client, however, can provide tea/coffee during the shift.
